After the dinner with my roommates, I asked one of my roommates to tell a story for my assignment (Her name is Rong and the other roommate is Ivy). When I explained my assignment to her, she was so excited about it. Since we have already was in conversational mood, she could start her story telling so naturally. Her story was about one of the TV shows that seemed quite popular among young people. The TV show was "Prison Break", which she started to watch quite recently because of her boy friend's persuasion. In addition, she herself was so into the TV show. By telling the gist of the "Prison Break", in part, she seemed to pursuade us to watch the TV show and talk about it together. She describe some of the parts with a lot of details that help us imagine the scenes. Also, she repeated the same phrases or words at times to emphasize how certain events were so surprisingly interesting. While she described the main plot, she also digressed a lot to other events that were strongly related to the main plot. Whenever she needed to digress, she told us how complicatedly this TV was organized. Other than the summary of story, she expressed her feeling on some events and some characters.

As audience, Ivy and I kept responding with "Wow" or "Uh-huh", " Hm", "Oh, my gosh" etc. as well as laughter, frowning, and nodding. In addition, we asked questions about the characters and the reason why certain events happened whenever we could not understand. We did not take our eyes off Rong's so that we showed that we were eager to listen to her story. We enjoyed her story a lot. Her story continued almost 25 minutes!!
